Swimming with Humpback Whales
Journey to the Dominican Republic to swim with humpback whales in the Silver Banks. This area is roughly 80 nautical miles offshore and houses upwards of 3000 whales each summer as males fight for breeding rights and moms toughen up their calves to make the journey north. There are no words to describe the rush you get from swimming just feet from a 40 ton whale and her calf or watching an escort rush in to push you away from a female he hopes to mate with. I often feel a picture is worth a thousand words but these pictures just do not do it justice. This trip was a very internal experience; being at peace with a gentle giant. It was a very serene experience and I highly recommend it!
